Why not take a look at the FREE QuickStart rules for The Mutant Epoch RPG? It even comes with Muddy Mayhem, a complete beginning adventure with Pre-gen PCs.
The Mutant Epoch (TME) uses the Outland System but for anybody who plays other popular TTRPGs it's easy enough to pick up.
